Apply

The selection process is in two stages. This online application form is the first stage in the recruitment process. Your responses to the questions provided in the application form should contain examples demonstrating your skills and experience. The information you provide will be used as the basis for determining whether you progress to the second stage, the Recruitment and Development Centre (RDC).

Your evidence can be taken from your work experience, academic study or personal interests. When describing a situation, you should be clear about how it arose, what your role was and the outcome. For example, if you are required to show your ability to problem solve, you should concentrate on how you solved the problem (e.g. through using your initiative, creativity or persuasive skills) rather than giving an account of the problem itself.

The second and final stage of this recruitment process is the requirement to attend an RDC where your skills and experience will be assessed further.

Hints and tips

This application form consists of seven sections. Each section must be completed before your application can be submitted.

You will be required to complete all sections and at the end of each section click 'SAVE AND CONTINUE'. Your session will timeout automatically after 40 minutes - please ensure you save your form regularly so as not to lose information.

Note: The information you enter for that section will only be recorded when the 'SAVE AND CONTINUE' button is selected. The 'SAVE AND CONTINUE' button is found by scrolling to the bottom of each section.

Once a section has been saved you may return to it and add or amend your answers.

Once each section has been saved and all mandatory fields have been filled in you will be able to use the 'FINAL SUBMIT' button on the declaration page.

Any mandatory fields that you haven't completed will be highlighted in red on submission.

If you are experiencing any difficulties completing the application form please send an email to RASjobs.application@ons.gsi.gov.uk
